Custom Features

These performance-enhancing features can be added to any end mill. This allows you to customize your tooling for more demanding applications, ensuring maximum stability and efficiency right out of the box. Notches

Chip breakers are serrations or notches incorporated into the cutting edge of an end mill. They create intentional break points that fracture long, stringy chips into shorter, more manageable chips. This improves chip evacuation, prevents bird nesting, reduces cutting forces, and helps control harmonics in demanding applications.

Weldon Flats

Weldon flats are ground-down, flat sections on the shank of an end mill designed to seat a set screw from the tool holder. This physical "lock" prevents the tool from rotating or pulling out during high-torque, heavy-duty machining.

Safe-Lock

Haimer’s Safe-Lock system uses unique spiral-shaped grooves on the tool shank that interlock with drive pins in the tool holder. This design combines the high-accuracy friction fit of shrink-fit technology with a mechanical "pull-out" protection that prevents the tool from spinning or sliding out under extreme force.
